New England equaled their best victory streak from the Brady period as they defeated division opponents the New York Jets by 13 points in professional football

First-year standout TreVeyon Henderson was the standout with three touchdowns as the New England squad claimed an eighth straight win for the initial occasion since legendary quarterback Tom Brady's last year with the franchise in 2019

Signal-caller Maye passed for 281 yards and a touchdown, connecting on 25 out of 34 attempts

Victory bolsters the New England's lead at the summit of the division as they improved to nine wins and two defeats, with the New York at the foot after slipping to two victories and eight defeats

The opposing team had taken the lead at Gillette Stadium with QB Justin Fields scoring a five-yard touchdown to cap the New York's opening drive

But the home team answered in the second period as Henderson ran in two seven-yard TDs before the running back caught a pass from Maye at the back of the endzone midway through the third period to push the score to 21-7

"That was a big time for him delivering, and it's been excellent for him to keep gaining experience," Maye said of the rookie. "He wants to be excellent."

Fields connected with Metchie toward the end of the third quarter to reduce the lead for the visitors but Andy Borregales kicked a two kicks in the final period as the home side closed out the triumph
